Get Yr Rights Networks Hosts 3-Part Webinar Series

The Get Yr Rights Network hosted a 3-part webinar series at the end of 2015 to help increase the capacity of LGBTQ youth-serving organizations to advance policing reforms both locally and nationally in the new year.

The webinars shared strategies, skills, and successes around federal LGBT criminal justice policy advocacy, including updates on the President’s Task Force on 21st Century Policing and how local organizations can plug in, Seattle’s Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion (LEAD) Programs and principles for advocating to ensure the best possible outcomes for LGBTQ youth targeted by policing of drug and prostitution laws, and U.S. Department of Justice investigations and consent decrees and how to center the experiences of LGBTQ youth of color!

Get Yr Rights Network Member organizations Streetwise and Safe, the Racial Justice Action Center, and BreakOUT! coordinated the series, which were recorded and are viewable at www.getyrrights.org by searching under Videos.
